Obituary of James Patrick Long

James Patrick LONG, age 90, of Cambridge, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at his home. Jim was born on June 30, 1920 in Pewamo, Michigan, one of two sons born to the late James and Martha (Fox) Long. On June 22, 1942, Jim married Betty J. Vance in St. Johns, Michigan. Betty preceded him in death on June 1, 2004. Jim started raising mint after moving to Wisconsin from Michigan in 1948. He cleared the land west of Jefferson and raised mint along with vegetables for the canning company. He then began raising sod for a landscaper. Jim was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson. He enjoyed traveling with his loving wife Betty and spending their winters in Florida. Surviving are: His Three Children: Susan (Larry) Borsian, Petaluma, CA, Son: Dr. Michael (Marilyn) Long, Edgerton, WI, and Patrick (Lori) Long, Cambridge, WI, Grandchildren: Thomas (Amy) Hotter, Mya (Whitney) Thorniley, Ashley & Brook Long and Tristan & Noelle Long, and Great-grandchildren: Anna and Joey Hotter and Luka & Casper Thorniley. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a brother, Ed. Per Jim�s wishes, private family services will be held. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson. The family would like to give their appreciation�to the Rainbow Hospice Staff for all they did for Jim and his family. �May Jim now enjoy all that heaven has to offer with his loving wife, Betty.�
