Obituary of Virginia Jane Wendt

Virginia Jane Grant Dabel Wendt, age 86, of Jefferson, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Alden Estates at Countryside, in Jefferson, WI. Virginia was born on February 4, 1924, the daughter of Chester and Elsie (Hacthel) Grant. On February 26, 1944, Virginia married Ralph Dabel. Ralph preceded her in death in 1974. On August 23, 1975, Virginia married William Wendt. William preceded her in death in 1980. She was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson and it's Dorcas Society. Surviving are: Son: Eugene (Paula) Dabel, Fort Atkinson, WI, Daughter: Lois Dehnert, Jefferson, WI, Son: Dennis (Maria) Dabel, Rome, WI, Daughter: Betty (Jim) Elgas, Janesville, WI, Grandchildren: Paul (Friend: Kim) Dabel, Kim Dehnert, Susan (Austin) Schmidt, Julie (Tom) Hesse, Tracy Thomas, Tanya (Jim) Ropella, Peter (Diane) Elgas, & Linda (Jamie) Peck-Elgas, Nine Great-Grandchildren, Two Sisters: Ellen Mehltretter, and Arlene Northey, Two Brothers: James (Darlene) Grant, and Roger (Joan) Grant, Sister-in-Law: Arvilla Schwartz, and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law; Edward Dehnert. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 13, 2010, at 11:00AM at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin with Rev. Ethan Steinbrenner and Rev. Steven Wilkens officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Rome, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 2-4PM on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson and after 10AM on Monday at the church until the services.
