Obituary of Marjorie May Pett

Marjorie May PETT, age 90, of Cambridge, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Blackhawk Senior Residence, in Fort Atkinson, WI. Marjorie was born in Phoenix, Arizona on December 11, 1919, the daughter of Paul Svere and Ellen May (Hall) Wold. She graduated from Janesville Senior High School in 1937 and from Milton College in 1941 with a teaching degree. Marjorie taught high school in Barneveld and Edgerton. On August 14, 1948, Marjorie married Merlin John "Jack" Pett in Janesville, Wisconsin. Jack preceded her in death on August 9, 2002. Marjorie was an active member of the Oakland-Cambridge, Presbyterian Church in Cambridge and she helped deliver Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Lake Ripley Country Club. Surviving are: Two Sons: Dr. Bruce (Kersten) Pett, Cambridge, WI, and Brad (Nancy) Pett, Fort Atkinson, WI, Grandchildren: Lauren (Collin) Kuecker, John Pett, Kris (Bobbi) Karberg & Alison (Ryan) Quam, Great-Grandchildren: Olivia, Savannah, Emily, Abigail, & Mason, Sister: Marion Cooney, St. Paul, MN, and Brother: Don Wold, Missoula, MT. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 19, 2010, at 5:00PM at the Oakland-Cambridge Presbyterian Church, Cambridge, Wisconsin with Rev. Sandra Nuernberg officiating. Friends may call after 4:00PM on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the church until the services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Cambridge Fire Department, Cambridge EMS, or to the Cambridge Food Pantry.
