Obituary of Raymond Victor Kassner

Raymond Victor KASSNER, age 89, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at the Fairhaven Corporation, in Whitewater, WI. Ray was born in Stangelville, Wisconsin on June 27, 1921, the son of Stanley and Mary (Meyer) Kassner. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. On May 29, 1947, Ray married Grace Vincent. Ray was employed by the Larsen Company for 50 years and served as plant manager for 35 years. He was a former member of St. Phillip�s Catholic Church in Green Bay, Wisconsin and a current member of St. Joseph Catholc Church in Fort Atkinson. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Ray was a humble husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who enjoyed life and loved to walk. He also enjoyed golfing, gardening and bird watching. Everyone that came in contact with Ray, enjoyed his gentle smile and twinkle in his eye and his genuineness. Surviving are: His Children: Donna (Carty) Monahan, Fort Atkinson, WI, Ron (Brenda) Kassner, Edgerton, WI, and Donald Kassner, Fort Atkinson, WI, Grandchildren: Daniel (Trisha) Burhans, Laura (Harold) Giddley, Christina Burhans, Timothy Burhans, William (Holly) Gister, and Sergeant Amy Gister, Great-grandchildren: Ashley, Kaylee, Dorian, Elijah, Whitney, Gabrielle, Samantha, Elizabeth, Hunter, and Harley, Three Brothers: Richard Kassner, Donald (Marie) Kassner, and Stan (Maxine) Kassner. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents: Stanley and Mary Kassner, sisters: Adeline, Leone and Marcella, and a brother Wencil. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at 1:00PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin with Father Jay Poster and Father Tom Perrin con-celebrating. Graveside Services will be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Stangelville, Wisconsin. Friends may call after 10AM on Tuesday at the church until the services.
