Obituary of Ruby June Shilts

Ruby June SHILTS, age 86, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, died Saturday, January 1, 2011, at her residence in Fort Atkinson. Ruby was born on June 1, 1924 in Long Beach, California to Adolphus R. and Etta May (Allen) Dollarhide. Ruby married Gilbert Shilts on December 31, 1941 in California. Gilbert preceded her in death on October 5, 1970. Ruby worked for many years as a residential care giver for St. Coletta and during World War II as a riveter on military planes. Ruby enjoyed birdwatching, music, crossword puzzles and visiting with her friends at her residence. Surviving are: Daughter: Donna Cogar, Sugar Camp, WI, Daughter: Carol(Bob) Barrett, Fort Atkinson, WI, Son: Leonard(Gene) Shilts, Elkhorn, WI, Daughter: Marlene Shilts, Menomonee, WI, Son: Albert Shilts, Madison, WI, Daughter: Debbie(Todd) Gimmel, Watertown, WI, Son: Dennis(Dawn) Shilts, Fort Atkinson, WI, Daughter-in-Law Ruth Shilts 24 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Son; Gilbert Jr., Grandson: Gilbert III, a great-great-grandson Logan Cogar, three sisters, one brother and Son-in-Law: Ken Cogar. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 11:00am at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Atkinson, Wi with Rev. Paul Scharrer officiating. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery , located in Fort Atkinson, WI. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 9am until the time of the service.
