Obituary of Henry Earl Drews

Henry Earl DREWS, age 83, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011, at the Golden Living Center, in Fort Atkinson, WI. Henry was born in Sullivan, Wisconsin on June 13, 1927, the son of Henry William and Frieda Barbara (Bienfang) Drews. Henry served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. On September 2, 1947, Henry married Mary Virginia Cooter in Ivanhoe, California. Henry worked at General Motors in Janesville for over 35 years. He was a lifelong member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Fort Atkinson and enjoyed playing on the church dartball league and traveling. Henry's grandchildren were his pride and joy and he liked watching their sport activities. Surviving are: Wife: Virginia Drews, Fort Atkinson, WI, Daughter: Brenda (Harold) Dilley, Ocala, FL, Son: Brent (Barbara) Drews, Cross Plains Grandchildren: Timothy Mueller, Concord, NC, Maggie Drews, Eugene, OR, Matt Drews, DeForest, WI, and Michael Drews, Milwaukee, WI. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Marvin and Lawrence. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011, at 3:00PM at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, Fort Atkinson with Rev. Terese Leonhard officiating. Friends may call after 2:00PM on Thursday at the funeral home until the services.
