Obituary of Lloyd Edward Melton

Lloyd E. "Buster" Melton, age 85, passed away February 11th 2018 at his home with family by his side. He was born April 15th 1932 with his twin sister Lillian to Ray and Mildred (Jacobson) Melton. He attended School in Saukville and Cambridge graduating high school in 1951. He was drafted into services with the Marine Corps in November 1951. He was part of the specialist demolition unit. He spent time on the rifle range at Camp Lejeune and San Diego California. He also took part in the atomic bomb testing in Nevada in 1953. He came home to farm and started his lifelong ambition and love for the land and his cows on Prairie Queen Road where he resided until his death. He married Barbara Johnston April 29th 1955. They raised their family on the farm. He is survived by his wife Barbara of 62 years, Children; Carol Melton of Athens, WI. Karen (Dale) Stenjem, Wayne (Signe) Melton and David (Heather) Melton of Cambridge, WI. Further survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren sister Shirley (Wilson) Manion brother Edward (Linda) Melton sister-in-laws Edna Jacobson, Gloria Melton, and Nancy Melton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sister Lillian (Gerald) Sorum, Brothers Donald Jacobson, Melvin, Clarence Melton and sister-in-law Loretta Hanson Melton and grandson, Caleb Burns. Services will take place at 1PM on Thursday February 15th 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church 501 Skogen Rd. Cambridge, WI. 53523 with a visitation prior to the service from 11 to 1. Burial to follow at Kroghville Cemetery The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Rainbow Hospice for the very special and outstanding support and care they provided to Buster the past 6 months. Consideration of a memorial in his name to Rainbow Hospice would be appreciated. The Nitardy Funeral Home is serving the family.
