My son and I have very fond memories of Aunt Pat. My late husband and I spend times with her at "The Cottage," and at her welcoming home in Whitewater. In fact, my husband and I spent our honeymoon at "The Cottage." Pat never forgot our birthdays. I often wondered how she could remember our birthdays (hubby, son and mine) when she had so many children and later grandchildren's birthdays to remember. Even if she had our birthdays on a calendar, when did she find time to pick and buy a card, address the envelope and sign it. I spoke with Pat before the pandemic, and before I called her, I was told that she might not stay focused on the conversation or even remember me. That was WRONG! She did remember me (even my voice) and we had a lovely conversation. I remember seeing her at a Platner family reunion (my late husband grew up with Don and his brother Jack). She was so happy to see my son and me. I remember thinking, she hasn't aged one bit! Aunt Pat was a warm and lovely, sweet person; full of patience and grace. I remember the first time I met her, she made me feel like family. I remember the amazing sweaters she made my son and the beautiful afghan she made me. Everyone I'm close to, knows of Aunt Pat, her late husband Uncle and her children. I'm so sorry I didn't get a chance to spend more time with her. She was REMARKABLE! My son and I loved her and will always remember her. I can see her laughing it up with Uncle Don, Uncle Jack, and Jay! Rest In Peace Aunt Pat.
