Obituary of Patricia Jeanette Gallup

Patricia Jeanette Gallup, 80, of Waterford, passed away at her home on December 30, 2021, surrounded by her family.  She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Vivian Platz, born in Milwaukee, WI on July 30, 1941.  Pat was a social worker for much of her career, but her life’s work was being a wonderful mother to her family and a catalyst for positive changes in the people who had the blessing of having her as a part of their lives.

Pat’s hobbies included making dream catchers, quilting, gardening, doing puzzles and she was the inventor of the world’s best potato salad.  But what she loved most was caring for her family in whatever way she could.  Pat cherished every moment she spent with her children and grandchildren.  She willingly gave of herself in this life to help her family so that they could have a better life than her.  She had a quiet strength and unconditional love – her life was one of selflessness and devotion to her loved ones.  Because of her education, experiences, and personal growth she forged a new path for her children and future generations.

She is survived by her children Suzanne (and Mark) Madecky, Jennifer (and William) Pfeifer, James Gallup, Jason (and Heidi) Gallup, and Rebecca (and Ubaldo) Nieves.  She is also survived by her brother David (and Heidi) Platz, sister Kathy Buba, and many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son David Gallup and brother Herbert Platz.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you for the many prayers sent on her behalf during her time of need, to ProHealth Care Home Hospice, and to all the wonderful people who have provided her with love and care these past few years.

A funeral service will be held at Nitardy Funeral Homes, at 550 N Newcomb St, Whitewater, WI 53190 on Sunday, January 9th.  Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am, and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.  After the service, a graveside burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Eagle, WI.

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and melt into the sun?  And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise up and seek God unencumbered.
