My name will mean nothing to you, but Mrs. Nelson's name, meant the difference in my life, as to whether or not I would be able to become a nurse. I started school as a 24 year old single parent to 2 little boys ages 2 & 5. I had experience as a CNA, which was more than most of the others in our class. I never remember Mrs. Triebold ever being anything other than encouraging. Just after Thanksgiving of 1974, I had to have emergency surgery which put me out of the classroom, and clinicals for 6 weeks. It was approved that I could have my classroom teaching recorded, so I could learn from them. Tests were allowed by the doctors, but I had to be taken to the college to do so , and, have them monitored by one of our 3 instructors. They were very accommodating! I was not able to graduate with my class, as I needed to complete my clinicals. I did this by joining the classes already in session in Madison. I still consider myself one of the nurse's that graduated in January of 1975. Without the encouragement of Mrs. Triebold, Mrs. Lindgren and Mrs. Nelson, I don't believe I ever would have made it through the program. You have no idea how special they all were in my lifetime. I have often thought of the times in school where I made it through the program only by the grace of God and my instructors! Mrs. Triebold made a huge impact on my life, as I'm sure she did for others!
