Melinde Anderson

Obituary of Melinde Rochelle Anderson

Melinde Rochelle Anderson (also known as “Linde to family and “Lin” to friends), 41, of Fort Atkinson entered into eternal peace on Sunday, April 11th, with her mother, stepdad, and brother Bryan by her side, holding her hand until the very end.

Melinde did not pass in vain, as she was a proud organ donor, and possibly saved/ improved the lives of at least 5 people.

Melinde was born on December 30, 1979 in Janesville to Ted and Becky Anderson.

Melinde was a 1998 graduate of Fort Atkinson High School, and was a care giver at many different nursing homes, group homes and at patient homes.  She loved helping others in need, and had a genuine caring heart, and a listening ear to many friends.  She was a true advocate to her mother as her mother was to her.  Her beautiful smile lit up the room, her laugh was contagious and like no other, and had a very funny sense of humor.

Melinde was a very talented artist, winning a first prize at an art exhibit for a painting she did with just her fingers.   She was offered significant monies for the painting, but wanted her family to keep it.  She loved singing, had a beautiful voice, and enjoy Karaoke.  She had a tender spot in her heart for all animals, and would even rescue night crawlers in the pouring rain, or cicadas on the side walk.  Melinde will leave a huge void in her family’s life, but also many friend’s lives.

The family would like to thank Officer Adsite of the Fort Atkinson Police Department for being the first on the scene to provide CPR to Melinde until the paramedics arrived, the Fort Atkinson Fire Departments paramedics along with Ryan Brothers.  Also, a big thank you to Meriter hospitals doctors, ICU nurses, and other staff who were magnificent to Melinde’s care.

Melinde is survived by her parents, Becky (Chuck) Floyd of Fort Atkinson, Ted Anderson of Janesville; half-siblings, Bryan Floyd of Fort Atkinson, Brandon (Valeria) Floyd of Watertown, Dr. Irsk (Sandra) Anderson of Chicago , Heather Davey of Edgerton, Lily Anderson of Janesville, Gracie Anderson of Janesville; grandparents, Alvin Anderson of Janesville, Jeanette Milleson of Fort Atkinson; Step mother Holly Chase of Janesville ; Step brother Cody of Janesville and Step sister Hannah of Seattle; her favorite Great Aunt Margaret Trueblood of PA., many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph “Paul” and Barbara Milleson, Peter and Gertrude Floyd, Betty Anderson; Great Uncle Martin Trueblood and aunt/uncle Lynne and Dan Kriesman.
