Obituary of John C. Olson

John C. Olson, 75, of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019.

John was born on March 5, 1944 in Clinton, Massachusetts to Howard D. Olson and Ruth (Melvin) Baie.  John graduated high school in 1962.  In 1981, he started dating Candy Addie and took her hand in marriage on September 30, 2003. John worked as an insurance agent for Fort Helenville Mutual For 41 years.

John enjoyed coyote hunting, fishing up north, photography, harmonica playing and spending time with family and friends.  John really enjoyed meeting up with his high school classmates once a month for lunch.  He was never too shy to share his opinion, and he had one on most subjects.

He is survived by his loving wife, Candy; sister, Carol (Jack) Huber of Cambridge; nephews, Robert (Karla) Deutsch of Jefferson, Andy Deutsch; niece, Raven Deutsch; step-daughter, Pamela (Matt) Reed of Florida; step-grand-children, Julia and Fischer Reed; sister-in-law, Cindy (Jim) Brookens of Janesville; many other nieces and nephews. 

John is preceded in death by his parents; and nephews, David and Daniel Deutsch.

A visitation will take place on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M.  A private service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in John’s name to the Fort Atkinson Wisconservation Club.
