Obituary of Rosemary McCarthy

Rosemary McCarthy passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Lake Country Landing, Oconomowoc, WI.

Rosemary was born on June 10, 1932 in Kenosha, WI to Frank and Cecelia (Tures) Frederick.  She graduated from St. Catherine Catholic High School in Racine and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Cardinal Stritch College.  She taught for a short time before she married Edgar McCarthy Jr. on April 19, 1954.  He preceded her in death on August 1, 2000.  She and Eddy raised 6 children starting in Milwaukee before they moved to Wales.  Rosemary loved the outdoors which included gardening, birding, cross country skiing and traveling the world on her bicycle with Eddy, her children and her friends.  She was a long time member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Genesee Depot, WI.  Rosemary was an active volunteer at the church and at Lapham Peak.

She is survived by her children Jeanne (Ken) Kassees, Waukesha, WI, Andrew McCarthy, Dousman, WI, Thomas (Brenda) McCarthy, Town of Ottawa, WI,  Kelcy (Scott) Boettcher, Wales, WI; grandchildren Tanne and Marc Crosby, Shane and Alyssa McCarthy; sister Alice (Jim) Voves,  Asheville, NC; brother Robert (Kathleen) Frederick, Lincoln,  CA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sons Daniel and Patrick McCarthy; sister Delores Frederick.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 2:00pm at St. Paul Catholic Church, S38W31602 Wern Way, Waukesha, WI 53189.  Burial will follow at the Wales Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church on Friday from 12:00pm until the time of the service. A reception will follow at the church.   In lieu of flowers you may wish to consider memorials to St. Paul Catholic Church or to Friends of Lapham Peak. The family wishes to thank the staff at Senior Planning Group, Lake Country Landing, Badger Hospice, especially Dylan and Sabrina and Amada Senior Care, especially Rosemary's dear friend Penny, for their kindness, care and compassion.
