Obituary of Norbert Yaeggi

Norbert P. Yaeggi, 88, Fort Atkinson, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek, WI. 

Norbert was born on April 28, 1930 in Fort Atkinson, WI to Otto and Hedwig (Schmidt) Yaeggi.  He married Joann Papenfus on October 22, 1960 in Whitewater, WI.  Norb was employed at Yerges Transportation for 42 years.  He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, served many years as usher and as a member of the Knights of Columbus.  His number one hobby was attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events regardless of the city or state. He was a loyal UW Badger football fan for many years. In addition, he was passionate about playing cards and over the years he was involved in many card clubs. He also loved his annual fishing trips to northern Wisconsin as well as traveling to foreign countries.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Joann; children Deena (James) Krause, Bartlett, IL, Brent (Ursula) Yaeggi, Watertown, WI; grandchildren Josh (Ashley) Cory-Yaeggi, Kyle Cory-Yaeggi, Alyssa Krause, Tarek Yaeggi, Braden Krause, Ezekiel Yaeggi and Micah Yaeggi; great-grandchildren Addison and Sawyer Cory-Yaeggi; brother Oscar (Evelyn) Yaeggi, Cambridge, WI; sisters Betty Nowakowski, Fort Atkinson, WI, Theresa (Robert) Janes, Fort Atkinson, WI.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 12:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1660 Endl Blvd Fort Atkinson, WI.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service.

The family would like to thank the caregivers that took care of Norb the past 5 years at home as well as the staff of Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital and Rainbow Hospice for their loving care.
