Obituary of Vada Mae Behrens

Vada (Kaddatz) Behrens passed from this life into the arms of Jesus, her Savior on January 24, 2019 at 11:58 PM.  She spread joy to all of us with her spontaneous humor and carefree laugh. She was a dedicated wife and mother, precious grandmother and kind friend.

Vada was born in Watertown, WI on November 15, 1928 to Esther( Schultz) and Oscar E. Flath.  Vada married Kenneth Kaddatz in 1952.  He preceded her in death in 1973.  She married Harry Behrens in 1982.  He preceded her in death in 2007. Vada highly valued education and graduated from Whitewater State Teachers’ College in 1952 and passionately dedicated 33 years to teaching young children in Fort Atkinson Public Schools. Vada was a faithful member of St. John's Community Church of Fort Atkinson, where she enjoyed serving with the Ladies’ Aid and singing in the choir.In her retirement years, she continued to serve her community by volunteering at Fort Memorial Hospital, Hoard Museum and Fort Atkinson Women's Club.

Vada was preceded in death by her parents, and her husbands Kenneth and Harry.She is survived by her sons, James Kaddatz, Cudahy, WI and Tod( Lori) Kaddatz, Fort Atkinson, WI and grand-daughter Sondra, Step-Children and Grandchildren George( Debra) Behrens ( Sarah, Michael, Chris) , Gail Suscha ( Emily, Laura), Susan( John) Wanninger (Elizabeth,David), and Judy Behrens(Callie); sister Grace Bentzin, Watertown, WI.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00am at Nitardy Funeral Home 1008 Madison Ave. Fort Atkinson, WI 53538.  Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Watertown, WI.  A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service.

The family gives very special thanks to the wonderful staff at Shorehaven- Oconomowoc for their loving care for Vada during the past two years.
