Obituary of Ollie Janet Bouvier

Ollie ‘Janet’ Bouvier, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Janet was born to Wilford and Helen (Wilson) Hilburn on December 20, 1941 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

On July 12, 1956, Janet married Harry “Pop” Bouvier Jr. at Ramey Air Force Base in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.  Together, they had three children, finally settling their family in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin.  Janet was a Licensed Practical Nurse and spent her nursing career working as a nurse at Fairhaven Senior Services in Whitewater.  Janet and Harry were also the owners of Richie’s Restaurant in Fort Atkinson. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Red Hatters Club.  Finally, Janet volunteered with many organizations.

Janet, more affectionately known as Nana, valued spending time with her family.  She enjoyed having everyone together for the holidays.  She loved telling stories, particularly those that involved Harry and herself.  Even to the end, Nana never missed a birthday, anniversary, or special event, having everyone’s favorite treats available.  Janet’s love for her family, specifically her eternal bond with Harry, was her most important value making sure that trait was passed to everyone in her family, including an affectionate saying known between her and Harry as Angels14.

Janet is survived by her son, Richard (Emily) Bouvier of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Amanda (Bobby) Bretl of Milton , Bob (Kara) Berg of Poynette, Tom Berg of Milton, and Lydia Bouvier of Fort Atkinson; great-grandchildren, Emma Berg, Kayli and John Berg; sister, Alpha (Sam) Panogiotopoulous; brother, David (Anita) Cutting; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, including step father, Oscar Cutting Sr.; husband, Harry “Pop” Bouvier; son, Joseph Bouvier; daughter, Marie Berg; and five brothers and sisters.
