Obituary of Carolyn Ann Beckman

Carolyn Ann Beckman, 88, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Carolyn was born on March 4, 1930 to Fred and Elsie (Christen) Vogel.  She spent her early years living on her family farm in Monroe, Wisconsin and graduated from Monroe High School.

On February 9, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa, she married Ray Beckman and together they raised five children.  Ray passed away on October 1, 2008.  They spent most of their married lives in Fort Atkinson.

Carolyn worked as a secretary at Fort Healthcare.  She was a member of the Women’s Club and Faith Community Church, and Church at the Barn.  Carolyn enjoyed gardening, finish carpentry work and was an avid baker and card player.  She enjoyed volunteering and to be with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Robert Beckman of Bend, Oregon, Richard (Kathy) Beckman of Clarkrange, Tennessee, Julia (Robert) McKenzie of Jefferson, Wisconsin, Lynn (Steve) Bussan of Grand Meadow, Minnesota; grandchildren, Miya Beckman, Kiara Beckman, Emilie Beckman (Simon) Gommesen, Starr Beckman, Savannah Beckman, Skye Beckman ( Kalob) Thomas, Elizabeth Beckman, Hayden Beckman, Shannon McKenzie (Tom) Gitto, Parker McKenzie, Noah (Kendra) McKenzie, Olivia McKenzie, Isaiah McKenzie, Nathanael McKenzie, Rebekah McKenzie, Stephanie Bussan, Melanie Bussan, Isaac Bussan; great-grandchildren, Matthew Gitto, Joshua Gitto, Levi Gitto, Jason Gitto, Phineas Gommesen, Claire Gommesen, Holly Gommesen, Axton Thomas, and Cameron Beckman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse; her brother, Arley Vogel; and son, William Ray Beckman.

A service in Carolyn’s honor will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2 P.M. at Faith Community Church;  W5949 Hackbarth Rd., Fort Atkinson, WI 53538. Visitation will take place from 1 P.M at the church until the time of the service.  Burial will take place at a later date.

The family requests that memorials in Carolyn’s honor be made to Rainbow Hospice.
