Obituary of Dolores Marie Schindler

Dolores Marie Schindler, 92, Fort Atkinson passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Blackhawk Senior Residence in Fort Atkinson.

Dolores was born on June 28, 1926 in La Crosse, WI to George and Regina (Dolle) Guggenbuehl.  She graduated from La Crosse Aquinas Catholic High School in 1944.  On June 13, 1946 Dolores married Douglas Schindler at St. James Catholic Church, La Crosse, WI.  He preceded her in death on January 23, 2007. In 1967 Dolores and Doug moved to Fort Atkinson.  Dolores worked for many years for the Fort Atkinson Police Department as a dispatcher. She enjoyed knitting, bowling and her grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children Michael (Luanne) Schindler, Fort Atkinson, Patrick (Donna) Schindler, Surprise, AZ, Tim (Karen) Schindler, Onalaska, WI, Kathleen Schindler, Fort Atkinson, WI,  Maureen (Curt) Millard, Fort Atkinson, WI; grandchildren Boyd (Chris) Schindler, Gina (Kevin) Heindl, Derik (Kaysie) Schindler, Megan (Wes Chiu) Millard, Erin (Alex Herrera) Millard; great-grandchildren Keira, Julia, Lauren, Cameron; brothers , Larry (Lois) Guggenbuehl, La Crosse, WI, Bob (Karen) Guggenbuehl, West Salem, WI, Jim (Karen) Guggenbuehl, La Crescent, MN.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother Richard Guggenbuehl; sister Patricia Breen; daughter-in-law Lisa Schindler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1660 Endl Blvd. Fort Atkinson, WI 53538.  Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:30am until the time of the service.  As an expression of sympathy you may wish to consider memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church.  The family would like to give special thank you to Pearl Luebke, a friend near and dear to Dolores, and also a thank you to the Black Hawk Senior Residence Staff for their care and compassion.  God bless the memory of Dolores Schindler.
