Obituary of Marilynn J Perry

Marilynn J. Perry

On Saturday, November 10, 2018, Marilynn J. Perry, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 74.

Marilynn was born on March 7, 1944 in Chicago, IL to parents Muriel and Millard Miller. She received her nursing degree in 1965 from Ravenswood Hospital Medical Center College of Nursing. Marilynn spent a lifetime caring for patients as an R.N., floor nurse, head nurse, DRG coordinator, nursing home administrator, nursing home consultant, assisted living owner and assisted living nurse.  She was a gifted leader and administrator. Her steady presence, expert knowledge and responsive guidance served to continually improve each medical establishment where she served.  She lovingly guided staff and volunteers through nursing ups and downs, successes and mistakes, and managed to help each one of them strive for their personal best.

Marilynn also spent a lifetime loving her family and friends as a purveyor of parties, always with enough food to feed an army; as a pillar of strength and leadership, with delegating powers everyone adored; and as a people-loving, peacock-loving, purple-loving, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. As much as she loved her work, by far, people mattered most to Marilynn. She loved to host and care for friends and family. She shared her home generously, offered hospitality at every turn, and stood by friends and family through their most wonderful and most challenging times.

Marilynn was preceded in death by her mother, Muriel O’Neill, her father, Millard Miller and her brother, David O’Neill. She is survived by her husband, James H. Perry, her two children, Sandra (and James) Johnson and Timothy (and Darla) Perry, her two grandchildren, Alyssa and Scott Johnson, her three brothers, Chuck, James and John O’Neill, and her sister Peggy Czapko.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, November 17th at Faith Community Church in Fort Atkinson, WI at 12:00pm. A visitation will immediately precede the service at Faith Community Church at 11:00am. A luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, Marilynn has asked that you honor her memory with a financial gift to the Faith Community Church Children’s Program.
