Susan J Nelson posted a condolence

Many fond memories come to mind when I remember Patsy Welch.
On a Sunday afternoon, my late husband Steve, my son and I would drive from our Gurnee home to see the Welsh's farm with Patsy, Joe and their children.
Recalling the sunlight streaming through the side windows, we would pass through the porch to enter the kitchen and sit at the large oak table where we would talk while Joe, Steve Sr. and our son Steve would leave toward the barns and animals or machinery.
Once, they delivered a lamb. There I learned from Patsy how to milk a cow.
Later, we would all go into the kitchen again and have a large meal with Pat's home made bread. She made all things seem like fun and remembering her is a joy in itself.
We stayed there one night and woke up to swim in the summer at their pool.
She'll be fun to see again beyond the veil. Her kind attitude was a rare find--Pat accepted everyone.
Just a few days ago I learned of her passing.
In Sympathy to her family,
Susan Nelson (Ford, Maar, Sahlin)

I was blessed to do Pat’s hair for the last year. I looked forward to her telling me what was going on on the farm. She loved chatting about her family and animals. She will be greatly missed.

I only knew Pat thru shared years at Fairhaven. I was a driver and she frequently accompanied residents to medical appointments. She was always patient and kind and attentive to their needs. I extend my sincere sympathy to all who loved her.
