Obituary of Melvin Robert Mueller

Melvin Robert Mueller, 90, of Johnson Creek, formerly of Jefferson, passed away on April 17, 2018.

 

Melvin was born on October 12, 1927 at the old Madison Avenue Hospital in Fort Atkinson to Lydia (Schatzschneider) and Robert Mueller.

 

He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1946.

 

Melvin married Donna Rohloff on October 12, 1957 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson.

 

He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson at the time of his death.

Melvin worked at Jamesway-Butler Manufacturing for 39 years and as the head carrier in Jefferson for the Daily Jefferson County Union after his retirement from Jamesway-Butler.

He served as treasurer for St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church for a number of years and as equipment manager for the Fort Atkinson Youth Baseball program for 3 years.

Melvin loved his wife and family and had a love of baseball, particularly the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers. He was also an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers football and basketball teams.

 

Surviving are his two sons, Mark (Christine) Mueller of Sun Prairie and Michael (Diane) Mueller of Verona; and three grandchildren, Nicholas Mueller of Sun Prairie, Ashley Mueller of Madison and Brandon Mueller of Stevens Point.

 

One brother, Harvey Mueller, and his parents preceded him in death.

 

A private funeral service will be held at a later date.

 

The family wishes to thank Sunset Ridge Assisted Living and Rainbow Hospice for their wonderful care of Melvin.
