Obituary of David G. Gregoire Sr.

David "Skip" G. Gregoire Sr., age 80, of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Huntington Place in Janesville, WI.

Skip was born in Edgerton, Wisconsin on May 26, 1937, the son of David Andrew and Beatrice (Grant) Gregoire.  He graduated from Edgerton High School in 1955.  In 1957, Gregoire married Julie Ann Rinehart in Milton, Wisconsin. Julie preceded him in death in 1987.

Skip worked at a foundry in Edgerton, Wisconsin and later as a meter reader/dispatcher for Wisconsin Electric from 1971- 1994. 

Skip was a lifetime member of the Wisconsin Trappers Association and he enjoyed trapping and taught a variety of classes for the DNR.  He participated in the annual Rendezvous as the Fur Trader for many years. He enjoyed traveling especially Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Surviving are his three daughters: Dorette "Dorrie" Hunter- Edwardson (Kevin), Milton, WI, Jacqueline (Jim) Wastak, Janesville, WI, and Michelle (Aaron) Aho, Wausau, WI; five grandchildren: Robert, Crystal, Mike, Hannah, and David; 12 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild a sister Dolores of Florida; two brothers: Douglas Krohn of Minnesota and Marvin Krohn of Whitewater, WI, and his trapping buddy Chester Fleck of Fort Atkinson, WI.                                     .

Skip was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son David Jr., grandson Daniel, and a brother Donald.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Nitardy Funeral Home Chapel, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI with Pastor Kevin Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Otter Creek Cemetery, Town of Milton, Wisconsin. 

Visitation will be at 10:00AM on Monday at the funeral home until the time of the services.
