Tribute to Jim Carson.
I’ve been blessed to have meet Jim in my Franciscan journey. He was one of the first person that contact me by e-mail and he continue to send me message during my first year of discernment. He talk to me about the Transition of St. Francis and help me find a Parish around Milwaukee where I can observer and participate of this tradition.
I was blessed to visit brother Jim last month, February 27. Although he ask me several times who I was, he was welcoming, smiling and enjoy the visit. When I told him I was a secular Franciscan he look at my Tau cross and ask for his own. Then he mention JoAnn and Ed Boss. It was a short visit but it let me ponder of me own immortality and the fragility of life.
I was deeply blessed to have Tuesday, March 20 off from work and say my last good-bye to our dear brother Jim. Thank you for your faithful example of living your life in imitation of St. Francis and loving Christ. Your memory will always will always bring a gestor of kindness to my day. May you rest in eternal peace.
A very compassionate and loving man. He will be greatly missed. Heaven rejoiced when came home. We send condolences and love to the family.
Our deepest condolence for your loss. I worked with Judge Carlson while he was the District Attorney, and while he was on the Bench. He will be greatly missed.
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Many memories of him as we met for all the KC functions. He was the most kind and generous man we ever knew. He and Bob and the rest of the KC members are having a holiday in heaven now. Rest in peace Jim.
We were saddened to learn of Jim’s passing. There was not a more caring, honorable and faith filled man. He will be missed. Our condolences to his family.

On behalf of the Secular Franciscans of Franciscans of the Prairie Region, Therese and I extend our sincerest condolences to the family, friends and associates of Judge Jim Carlson, O.F.S. In the years Jim and I served on the National Fraternity Council as Ministers of our respective Regions, I knew him as a most kind and gentle servant of the Gospel, thoroughly Catholic and Franciscan. Our whole Franciscan family was enriched by his service and as we now pray for him, giving thanks to God for the gift of Jim in our lives, we ask also for his prayers that we may be faithful daughters and sons of Sts. Francis and Clare of Assisi. Pax et bonum, Deacon Dave Ream, O.F.S., Minister, Franciscans of the Prairie Region
So sorry for your loss of the Judge, had a lot of years working with him. God had better plans for him.
