Obituary of Carroll William Trieloff

Carroll William Trieloff, 91, Fort Atkinson passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Wellington Meadows Assisted Living in Fort Atkinson. Carroll was born on May 18, 1926 in Fort Atkinson to Clarence Carl and Christina (Becker) Trieloff. He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1943. Carroll married Jean Francis (his high school sweetheart-the love of his life) on October 18, 1947 at St. John's Community Church. He operated the 3rd generation family farm for many years. After retiring from the farm, he was employed at Uncle Josh Bait Company in Fort Atkinson. Carroll was a lifelong member at St. John's Community church where he sang in the choir and was a vocalist there for over 70 years. He also served on the church council several times. Carroll was a member of the Jefferson American Legion band from 1943-2003. He played the trumpet but what he might be remembered for the most was the way he lit up that band shell with his extraordinary voice! He shared the gift of his beautiful voice with so many through the years when he sang at numerous weddings and funerals throughout the community. He will especially be remembered for singing the Lord's Prayer at all of his childrens, nieces and nephews weddings, the most recent one being only a year ago at the age of 90! He was also a volunteer at Fort Memorial Hospital and the Hoard Museum and served on the Union Cemetery board. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards. He was an overall sports enthusiast…especially dear to him were the Brewers, Packers & Badgers! He also loved spending time with his family. He was a hard worker, a kind and gentle family man and he will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. He is survived by his wife, Jean; children Dale (Cris) Trieloff, Fort Atkinson, Jill (Dennis) Stark, Fort Atkinson, Judy (George) Carney, West Lake Village, CA; grandchildren, Mark (Heidi) Trieloff, Jefferson, Lynn (Scott) Retzlaff, Janesville, Christopher (Beth) Trieloff, Fort Atkinson, Jay (Amy) Oakley, Fort Atkinson, Shauna Lueder, Fort Atkinson, Derek Stark, Lawrence, KS, Nathan and Daniel Aggarwal, Westlake Village, CA; ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Doris Hetts and Lurline Borchardt; brothers-in-law, Allen Hetts and Dave Borchardt. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11:00am at St. John's Community Church, N2560 CTH J, Fort Atkinson. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave., Fort Atkinson, WI and on Thursday at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery in the Town of Sumner. A special thank you to the staff at Wellington Meadows for their loving care over the past several years, especially most recently throughout his final days! Also, thank you to the caring staff at Rainbow Hospice. As an expression of sympathy you may wish to consider memorials to St. John's Community Church or Rainbow Hospice.
