Obituary of Nancy Jameson Piehl

Nancy Jameson Piehl WHITEWATER - Nancy Jameson Piehl, 80, went home to be with her LORD Monday, October 23, 2017 at the Fairhaven Senior Services facility in Whitewater, WI. The daughter of Frank and Marion Jameson, Nancy was born May 17, 1937 in LaCrosse, WI, but lived with her family in Gays Mills, WI. She graduated from Gays Mills High School, and attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, graduating with a BS majoring in Home Economics Education in 1959. She also earned a MEd with an emphasis in counseling from Washington State University in 1983. She used her counseling talents well as a Christian marriage and family counselor in private practice and for the State of Washington. Nancy married Richard Piehl in 1958 just before he headed to Germany for a military tour. She joined him there after graduating in 1959. They traveled, camping through much of Europe for the next two years before heading to a new home in Pinole, CA. In 1970 they were transferred by his company to Kennewick, WA where they lived for 21 years before transferring to the St. Louis, MO area where they lived for three years. Upon retirement they returned to Nancy's home town of Gays Mills, WI and bought a 210 acre farm containing 160 acres protected by the WI State Forestry Program. Nancy said, "If you are going to raise trees, I'm going to have llamas!" They had four for most of their 19 years there. In 2012 they moved to the Prairie Village area of Whitewater, WI. Nancy is survived by her husband, Richard Piehl; sister Patricia Jameson; brother Scott (Pam) Jameson; half-brother Don Jameson; sons: Glen (Rebecah) Piehl, Garrett (Ann) Piehl, and Brendan (Denise) Piehl; grandchildren: Clarissa (Antares) Viens, Clayton (Kristen) Piehl, Claire Piehl, Catlin (Justin) Bukavitz, Kathleen Piehl, Jacob Piehl, Sarah Piehl and Michael Piehl, and four great-grandchildren: Victor, Pearl, Garrett and Axel; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Bigelow Lourie; half-sisters: Ruth, Betty and Joyce; half-brother John, and brother Dr. Douglas Jameson. A memorial service will be held at Fairhaven (435 W. Starin Rd. Whitewater, WI 53190) on Nov. 2, 2017 at 3 pm with burial the following day at the Gays Mills, WI Cemetery at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Fairhaven Foundation or the Alzheimer's Disease Research Group would be appreciated. The Nitardy Funeral Home, Whitewater, WI assisted the family.
