Obituary of Helen Mae Reed

Helen Mae Reed, 85, Fort Atkinson, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Jefferson Memory Care, Jefferson, WI. Helen was born on December 13, 1931 in LaCrosse, WI to Arthur and Lena (Grimsled) Hatlan. She married Paul Reed on June 30, 1953 in Viroqua, WI. Helen was a quilter at Schweiger Industries for 13 years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Atkinson. She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughter, Susan (David) McKee, Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Jessica (Rodney) Potts, Vancouver, WA, Lucas (Shelley Witucki) McKee, Fort Atkinson, Mallory (Kevin) Hansen, Madison; great-grandchildren, Daltyn, Kylie and Emmalyn McKee; sisters, Grace Henderson, Onalaska, WI, Anna Kemp, Richland Center, WI, sisters-in-law Shirley Swenson, Viroqua, WI and Linda Kesler, Brodhead, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 314 Barrie St. Fort Atkinson, WI. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Ave. Fort Atkinson from 6:00-8:00pm and on Saturday at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson.
