Obituary of Reverend Wernor E. Wagner

Reverend Wernor Wagner, age 92, of Elkhorn, WI passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at his home. He was born November 23, 1925 in Sebewaing, MI. to Herman and Clara (nee: Ziegler) Wagner. He served as a pastor in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife Delores, of Elkhorn, son Timothy (Janice) Wagner of Lake Elsinore, CA, daughter Collette (David) Hintz of Elkhorn, WI, son Phillip (Cindy Weinhart) Wagner of Frisco, TX, and daughter Amy (Daniel) Helwig of Oconomowoc, WI. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 sister-in-laws and 2 brother-in-laws and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. A visitation will take place on Friday, January 26, from 9 to 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 415 Devendorf St., Elkhorn, WI 53121, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Wayne Meier and Pastor Victor Prange will be officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers memorials can go to the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Student Assistance Fund, N16 W23377 Stone Ridge Dr., Waukesha, Wisconsin 53188 making checks payable to WELS.
